Meet The Author

Hello, Dear Readers!

Here's some information about me and how I got started writing Dark Wings. Don't forget to check out my other books, the Blood Omen Saga, HERE.

Born in the UK, I've spent the past 17 years living and teaching in Spain, New Zealand and The Republic of Georgia. I've got two beautiful young daughters and a handsome little boy and I work as an English Language Specialist and as Copy-Editor for several cultural and business journals in Tbilisi. I'm also the Editor-in-Chief of Georgia's leading English language newspaper, ‘Georgia Today’.

I’ve lived in Georgia since 2007- I was brought here by love and, since then, the love has only grown. Georgia is a country full of treasures and ancient tales- the birthplace of wine, one of the first ‘European’ countries to take on Christianity and boasting its own unique alphabet. The nature is wild and diverse- from snow-capped mountains, waterfalls and caves to black sandy beaches, raging rivers and lakes full of fish. The people are friendly and hospitable- most willing to give a guest their last piece of bread and cheese, because all guests are ‘God-sent’.

I was inspired to write the Dark Wings story in the summer of 2016- sitting on Ureki beach near sunset, that quiet time of day when the air is cooling, the sea is still and the crowds are thinner. I was watching the people around me and one boy caught my eye: dark-skinned, dark-haired, standing with his arms wrapped protectively around a girl. He was my demon, Toma. My angel, Ilia, came from a trip to Mestia and a story I heard about the belief that every child is born with a protecting angel. The demon joined the angel in my mind and the Dark Wings tale began to weave itself…
